WFC Accepting Nominations for Delegates at 2022 Congress

The Women’s Forest Congress (WFC) is accepting nominations for the role of Delegate at the 2022 inaugural event in Minneapolis, Minnesota, October 17-20, 2022. WFC is seeking up to 10 individuals for each of the five Congress themes to represent a broad cross-section of the WFC community and broader forest community, as well as up to 5 individuals to address the future of the WFC as a movement and organization. Delegates will work in partnership with the Steering Committee, Content Development Organizing Team, and other Congress participants to develop strategies and solutions to address the most pressing current and forthcoming challenges for forests and women. The final deliverable from the work of the Delegates will be the WFC Resolutions presented and endorsed at the Congress in October.

We encourage you to nominate yourself or another individual you feel can bring specialized expertise and thought-leadership to facilitate next steps to achieve short and long-term goals. Nominations should include the individual’s name, skills, and perspectives she/they would bring to the Delegate role, and contact information. WFC is accepting Delegate nominations through Friday, July 15, 2022, 5:00 PM Eastern. To be considered, please submit your nomination below.

The 2022 Congress call for Delegate nominations is now closed.

Delegates will play a critical role at the inaugural Women’s Forest Congress. Delegates will be responsible for leading and synthesizing discussions and making formal recommendations. They’ll facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among the Women’s Forest Congress community with the ultimate goal of presenting and endorsing the WFC Resolutions at the Congress.

Delegates will review and refine draft outcomes, measures of successes, goals, and resolutions in advance of the Congress. With full access to all Congress general and concurrent sessions, Delegates will engage with attendees, listen to presentations, and meet in Delegate-only deliberations during the Congress to capture and suggest revisions to the Resolutions and provide the final draft for voting and approval on the final day of the Congress. The approved WFC resolutions will be shared publicly following the Congress.

Financial assistance for Congress participation (i.e., travel expense reimbursement or registration discounts) is available as needed.
