The Steering Committee is made up of a diverse group of strong, forward-looking women who provide insight, leadership, and lend their collective experience and expertise to ensure the Women’s Forest Congress is a resounding success.
Meet the current Steering Committee members.

Tia BeavertTribal Forest Manager, Yakama Nation Tribal Forestry
Tia is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation and is the Tribal Forest Manager who oversees the Forest Development, Fire Management, Fuels Management, Mount Adams Tract-D Recreation Area, Fee Land Program, and participates in ceded territory collaborations. She accepted her role on the Council to encourage other women to pursue careers in forestry and continue to support women in the forestry sector.

Lily BrodForester, Manulife Investment Management
Lily is a field forester and co-facilitator for forestry education outreach programs. She was inspired by the 2022 Women’s Forest Congress in-person event, and is participating in leadership because she’d like to see the WFC community grow and hopes it will continue to inspire and uplift women in the forest sector.

MaryKate BullenDirector of Sustainability and ESG, Forest Investment Associates
MaryKate leads business development, sustainability, and impact activities for a major global forest investment firm. Through her leadership role with the WFC, she champions communication and networking for women in forestry and related fields, believing that the future of forests is brighter when women’s talent, passion, and perspectives shape forest policy, management, and business.

Lillian Grace DinkinsDC Women in Conservation Fellow
Lillian Grace Dinkins, Ph.D., is an urban forestry scholar and advocate focused on advancing tree equity, sustainability, and community resilience. She earned her doctorate from the University of Florida’s School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences and is a proud graduate of Tuskegee University. Lillian’s work centers on the human dimensions of urban forestry, particularly engaging under-resourced communities through inclusive greening initiatives.

Asia Dowtin, PhDAssistant Professor of Urban and Community Forestry, Michigan State University
Asia’s work explores the cross-section of nature’s role in urban development, specifically the relationships between forests and the development of urban forest management plans, regional water resource management, and hazard mitigation.

Amy DotyPrincipal & Event Strategist, Meetings and Such
Amy is an experienced meeting professional with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit and association sector, with focus on the forest and conservation sectors. She leads event planning for the WFC.

Jordan DrebinEnvironmental and Community Strategist
Jordan’s work bridges program strategy, evaluation, storytelling, and facilitation to support cross-sector collaboration among agencies, Tribes, nonprofits, and rural communities. Jordan is a citizen of the Sun’aq Tribe of Kodiak, Alaska, and grounds her approach in both systems thinking and cultural relationship-building to advance resilient landscapes and communities. She holds a Master’s in Natural Resources from Oregon State University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Program Evaluation from Portland State University.

Kaylyn GlennSoutheast Regional Manager, FSC

Michaela HarmsSenior Director of Mass Timber, Sterling Structural
Michaela Harms launched and leads the Structural Division for Sterling, the world’s largest Cross Laminated Timber manufacturer and one of the largest private purchasers of Southern Pine lumber. Raised in Wisconsin and educated in Finland, Michaela has focused her career on expanding markets for forest products in building construction to support strong, vibrant woodland economies. She consistently prioritizes opening doors for other women in forest products and engineering to advance the industry.

Natasha James, PhDSenior Director of Future Forests, Society of American Foresters
Natasha works at the intersection of policy and science, with a focus on how their integration shapes the management of forestlands. She is passionate about communication and engagement, using storytelling to connect diverse audiences throughout the forestry community and beyond. Through her participation on the Steering Committee, she looks forward to contributing her perspective while also learning from and alongside other women leaders to help advance the impact of the Women’s Forest Congress.

Eliza MeyerProject Director, Dovetail Partners
Eliza is a project director at Dovetail Partners, where she contributes to Dovetail’s research, projects, and communications around forest sustainability and land use decision making. She has a social science background and is passionate about building positive relationships between people and land.

Anna OstranderManager of Sustainability Data, American Wood Council
Anna has a background in chemistry and an M.S. in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan, where she worked to quantify the university’s Scope 3 carbon emissions. At AWC, she works to use data from wood product manufacturers to better understand and communicate the environmental impacts of the U.S. wood products sector. Anna believes good data can be used to tell stories, make connections, and drive the changes necessary to achieve a more sustainable future.

Sara SantiagoAssistant Director, The Forest School at the Yale School of the Environment
Sara directs strategic planning, programming, communications, and relationship building and has worked in the academic, non-profit, and public sectors. As a diasporican, she specializes in the intersection of sustainable agriculture and forest conservation in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Sara holds a Master of Forestry degree from Yale.

Esther TonadeGraduate Student, Michigan State University
Esther Tonade is a graduate student at Michigan State University with a passion for strengthening professional and organizational capacity in urban and environmental forest management. Her work focuses on urban and community forestry, emphasizing inclusive leadership and collaboration to support equitable and sustainable green spaces. As a member of the Women’s Forest Congress Steering Committee, she is dedicated to fostering mentorship, representation, and community-driven approaches that empower women and advance the future of urban forestry.
